Munich Christmas Market, a traditional German Christmas event, started at Odori Park in Sapporo for the first time in three years.

 

 

The “Munich Christmas Market” is a traditional Christmas event in Munich, Germany, a sister city of Sapporo.

Last year and the year before last, the event was held online due to the new coronavirus, but this year, for the first time in three years, the event was held in Odori Park and started on the 22nd, attracting many visitors during the daytime.

Nearly 30 stalls are set up at the venue, where visitors can taste sausages and wine on the spot, as well as aroma candles and traditional German sweets such as “Stollen” and “roasted almonds.

Visitors are asked to wear masks every time they talk, even while eating or drinking, to prevent infection.

 

 

A father who visited with his 2-year-old daughter said, “This is the first time for me to bring my child, so I was excited. I want to enjoy myself while taking precautions against infection.

In Odori Park, the “Munich Christmas Market” will be held until the 25th of next month, and from the 22nd, the illuminations will be lit up, creating a Christmas mood.
